Love Baseball?  Want to Help?
Welcome to Share The Glove!
How We Share the Glove
By Brett Johnson
Our program is simple and could help many kids learn America's favorite past time.

Look through your used baseball gloves at home.
If you have any that you no longer use and that are still in good shape, d
rop them off at any of our collection sites.

Along with my family and my Confirmation sponsor, Joe Wheatley, we collect these older gloves and decide whether they are good to go or in need of reconditioning.

As part of my Community Service work, I would take the process from there.
I would evaluate all the items that we collect and decide what appropriate measures need to be taken.

Lastly, my friends and family would help me determine which communities
eed this equipment the most and how it would be delivered to the families, children, and teams that need it the most.

By the way, if you have suggestions on how to make this process even better, email us at comments.sharetheglove

Joseph Wheatley
A long-time resident of Westfield, Joe Wheatley is a retired postal worker who has spent a lifetime donating time to worthwhile causes.

Here is why he decided to help Share The Glove.

"I have known Brett for many years and was his baseball coach at the Roosevelt School.  Brett and I share a love of the game.  It was both a surprise and an honor when Brett chose me to be his Confirmation sponsor.

"I was excited by the service project that he selected -- to collect baseball gloves for inner-city youngsters -- and I wanted to help.  I was able to obtain the cooperation of two school principals to support this project with fliers and having the schools (Roosevelt and Wilson Elementary) serve as collection locations.
The project was all Brett's idea and he has done the hands-on work.  I am proud to be involved in such a worthwhile project."
